August 20-21 – The Puppeteers of America Great Plains Region Puppet Festival and Conference takes place at the Holiday Inn Express in Bridgeton Missouri and the Saint Charles Missouri Convention Center. The them of the conference was incoporating puppet performances with school curricula. Paul Mesner, Monica Leo, Steve Mark, and Tom Bonham all donated performances. The centerpiece of the conference was the presentation by Deborah Fisher, executive director of the Missouri Alliance for Arts Education, who spoke and demonstrated teaching guides that embraced curricula, grade level expectations, and ready made lessons.
Participants came from Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Arkansas, and South Africa.
The Confernce and Festival were co-sponsored by The Puppet Guild of Greater Saint Louis who provided finacial backing for the event.

[Apr 17, 2010] Tom Bonham Puppet Productions performs his Wynken Blynken and Nod puppet production at the Puppetry Arts Institute in Independence Missouri at 11 am and 2 pm. The PAI recieved a grant from the Missouri Arts Council to help finance the presentation.
